One of the main lessons I am taking away from this course is
the need to continually expand my knowledge about new technologies and how they
can be used in the classroom. With this
comes the need to be able to adapt lessons to best meet the needs of my
students and teach them the ethical use of technology during their academic
career.
The part of the course that challenged me the most was
having to define my personal philosophy on technology. To personalize what I believed and to be able
to tie that to a Biblical world view was something that I had not fully
considered before.
I also realized how important professional organizations are
to help in advancing my skills and knowledge of what challenges my students are
facing. As my role as an instructor
changes, I need to be aware of how the students’ role is also changing.
I am taking away lessons that will help me continue to grow
in my role as an instructor. I have
learned how to better connect with my online students. I have also learned how to better serve my
students with relevant lessons and technology usage.
